Independent Technical Evaluation

When to use this: You're about to make a significant commitment — acquiring a company, investing capital, or awarding a contract — and the core claim is that their autonomous or control system does something novel. You've heard the pitch. Now you need to know if it's true. Vendors and sellers have every incentive to present their technology in the best possible light. We don't.

What we do: We provide structured, independent technical evaluation of autonomy and control system claims. We review specifications, design documentation, test data, and live demonstrations — then give you a plain-language assessment of what the technology actually does, where the real performance envelope is, what claims are substantiated, and what risk you're absorbing if you proceed. Engagements are scoped to the decision you're facing: an M&A technical due diligence review, an investment thesis stress-test, or a pre-award assessment for procurement. We produce a written and verbal evaluation you can act on.

Performance & Control

When to use this: Your UAV, surface vessel, or UUV isn't tracking well. Stability margins are tighter than you'd like. Disturbance rejection is failing in real-world conditions. You've tuned the gains as far as you can go and it's still not right.

What we do: We analyze your existing guidance, navigation, and control architecture and identify what's limiting performance. From there, we redesign, retune, or restructure — whether that means a new control law, a better estimator, or rethinking the sensor fusion approach. The result is a system that does what you need it to do, in the conditions you actually operate in.

Modeling & Digital Twins

When to use this: You need to understand your system's dynamics before you build, or before you test. You want to simulate failure modes, explore design tradeoffs, or validate a controller without burning hardware.

What we do: We develop physics-based mathematical models of your vehicle and implement them as simulation-ready digital twins. We also specialize in system identification: using real data from your vehicle to build or refine models that reflect how it actually behaves.

Advisory & Review

When to use this: Your team is stuck. A design decision isn't sitting right. You're heading into a critical test and want a second set of expert eyes.

What we do: We provide focused technical advisory engagements — reviewing designs, diagnosing problems, evaluating tradeoffs, and giving you clear, actionable recommendations. No fluff.

How We Work

We take on project-based and retainer engagements. We recommend starting with a focused scoping call where we learn about your system and your problem. We're a small, senior team, so you work directly with the engineers doing the work.
